We are truly in troubling times. As a fraternity that was founded in 1963, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement, it is our duty in 2020 to be at the forefront of making a difference as the struggle continues!
The brothers of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. are kings, and WE will not tolerate the injustices of many of our police officers who are not protecting us. They are killing us.
We cannot hide behind our positions. We must stand in front of our families-our children, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers.
Members of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc are encouraged to wear our letters and participate in peaceful protests. Our voices must be heard. We must demand justice and change, and we must move the needle. There is a shift happening, and we will be a part of that movement.
As a fraternity, Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc will not be satisfied with simply protesting and having our demands heard. This movement will continue past the injustices of police brutality; there will be a significant amount of focus placed on inequality in healthcare, systemic racism, poverty/displacement due to gentrification, voter/political interaction, voter/political education, and voter registration.
We stand on the shoulders of those who sacrificed and marched in 1963. It is our call to see that their works are finished. We have been idle for too long.
